A CENTURY OF FLIGHT
These colorful ceramic relief tiles were created by fifth grade students from Charles R. Drew Charter School in Atlanta. The installation commenmorates a century of flight (1903 - 2003) with 25 images of specific aircraft starting with the Wright Flyer. The installation was commissioned by the City of Atlanta Department of Aviation Art Program with funding made possible through HMS Host support. It is located in the food court of the B Concourse of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
PASSAGE
This temporary installation (ceramic, metal and wood) was created by 52 members of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Metro Atlanta through the Youth Art Connection. Funding was provided by the Fulton County Arts Council and the City of Atlanta Office of Cultural Affairs.
HARD DEPARTURES
Eleven teens from Sutton Middle School took part in a four-day program at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University. The first two days focused on touring Atlanta’s public art collection. The third day students made drawings and models of their own proposed public art installations. They discussed their designs and the work was juried, emulating the public art process of selecting a commission. The final day participants split into two teams to create a temporary public art installation based on one of the students' designs. The project was funded by Price Waterhouse Coopers.

Fourth grade students from Woodson Elementary School particpating in the High Museum of Art's After School Program created sculptures of sculptures from the museum's collection.
