HARD DEPARTURES
Eleven teens from Sutton Middle School took part in a four-day program at the Michael C. Carlos Museum at Emory University. The first two days focused on touring Atlanta’s public art collection. The third day students made drawings and models of their own proposed public art installations. They discussed their designs and the work was juried, emulating the public art process of selecting a commission. The final day participants split into two teams to create a temporary public art installation based on one of the students' designs. The project was funded by Price Waterhouse Coopers. |
